What you'll be challenged to do:
During your internship, you will work on a highly functioning team and aid in providing design services for a wide variety of projects. You'll receive guidance, supervision and mentorship by experienced engineers and professionals with your success as the goal. The majority of our interns convert to full-time employees.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams on client projects, contributing to design and development processes.
* Work closely with engineers to understand project requirements and propose innovative solutions.
* Perform detailed engineering calculations and design system layouts (piping, ductwork, etc.), including equipment sizing and coordination of trades.
* Assist in reviewing and modifying designs based on project needs and participate in field survey work as required.
* Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, reports, and technical drawings.
Qualifications:
What you'll bring to our firm:
* Currently enrolled in an ABET-accredited bachelor's or master's degree program in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering.
* Demonstrated interest in mechanical engineering careers within the A/E/C industry through applied academic coursework, past internships, or other experiences.
* Basic proficiency with Revit 3D or equivalent.
* Strong data analysis and problem-solving abilities.
* Self-motivated with a keen desire to learn.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
What we prefer you bring:
* Knowledge or experience in heat transfer and fluid thermodynamics.
* Previous internship or related experience in mechanical engineering.
* Participation in professional associations, on-campus groups, or community service.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $20.00 - $28.00 per hour. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
