We have an exciting opportunity for an intern on our Development Team. As an intern supporting our Development campaigns that could include Heart Walk, Heart Ball, Cycle Nation, and Go Red events, you will play a key role in driving the success of these impactful campaigns. Your responsibilities will include a variety of tasks that contribute to the planning, execution, and follow-up of these life-saving initiatives.
The American Heart Association's Internship Program provides college students an opportunity for hands-on experience in various facets for individuals interested in gaining work experience with a non-profit, voluntary health organization.

Internship Overview:
Time Commitment: 20 hours per week
Internship Duration: 9/8/25 - 12/5/25
Location: Hybrid Position - Intern must be based in Denver, CO or the immediate surrounding area.
Salary: $23.00 per hour

Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Support:
* Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing pre-event logistics, and on-site event management for multiple community events.
Event Participant Outreach & Engagement:
* Conduct pre-event outreach to attendees of social events and conduct follow-up calls to past and current coaches/captains, top fundraising participants, and survivors to support participation.
Sponsor Support:
* Assist with sponsor presentation preparation and gathering materials for sponsor follow-up after meetings, helping to maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Data & Reporting:
* Assist with pulling reports, data entry, and organizing event-related information to track progress and outcomes.
Administrative Support:
* Assist with administrative tasks such as preparing printed materials, assembling thank-you cards, and organizing event supplies.
Qualifications:
* Candidates who are seniors or graduate students pursuing a degree in business, communications, non-profit fundraising, event planning, preferably marketing or public relations.
* Experience/interest in promotion, sales, or fundraising.
* Demonstrated skills in effective one-on-one and group communications and comfort with working professionally with all levels of community leaders, volunteers, and staff.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities involving multiple entities.
* Intermediate to excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi connection and reliable transportation.
* Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
* Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.
