				Overview:

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Interior Designer to join our Architecture team in Simsbury, CT, as part of our Building Engineering Services division! As a Designer, you will apply creative and architectural fundamentals and practices in support of project teams to achieve a functional and efficient building environment. This role develops basic design tasks such as preparing drawings, making models, and graphic designs.

Our team of talented and creative architects work closely as trusted partners with our clients throughout the design process to realize a jointly conceived vision. We offer a full range of services from preliminary planning and feasibility studies through final design and construction inspection for both full build-out, renovations and adaptive reuse projects. Our markets include commercial development, warehousing, pre K-12 and higher education, science and technology, municipal and public works agencies, offices and corporate facilities, and retail and food.

Our in-house team of architects, interior designers, engineers, and planners skillfully balance design constraints with the clients' needs and desired outcome. This creates collaborative, dynamic and timeless designs. Our professionals also provide mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design; programming, corporate branding, standards integration, workstation specification, facilities and construction management support, energy solutions, and LEED certification. Responsibilities:

* The position requires interior designing as it relates to the programming, design, and construction documentation of retail/hospitality/workplace and other commercial interiors projects.
* The Interior Designer will also assist in site visits, attend manufacturer representative meetings on behalf of the company, and maintain our department library and samples.
* The ideal candidate would be open to meeting with clients, consultants, and other in-house individuals and leaders to understand and meet the client's goals and requirements for the interior of building projects.
* May be required to perform field inspections, measurements or calculations and document same.
* Evaluate, select and apply standard architectural techniques and procedures as well as knowledge of building codes and regulations to create designs/drawings, while using judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications to existing designs.
* Perform work on complex components or sub-systems and related elements using advanced analysis and design methods.
* Perform site visits, field inspections, measurements, or calculations and document.
* Assist in the development of client presentations; may participate in actual presentation as needed.
* Establish & maintain positive relationships with co-workers, support and build others on the team and across disciplines/offices.
* Be responsive to others and share information to improve efficiency and help others achieve goals; listen and engage in productive and critical debate.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design or related field from an accredited university, or equivalent combination of education/experience required.
* 1-3 years of professional commercial design experience.
* Prior experience in Revit is required; AutoCAD, Adobe Creative, and SketchUp experience is a plus.
* A willingness to learn.
* Strong technology skills, particularly with Revit.
* Able to work closely with others.
* Willing to Travel.
* Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
