				Overview:

The Integration Engineer IV (Health Level 7) supports the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of healthcare system integrations that enable secure and reliable data exchange. This role assists with HL7 v2, HL7 v3, and FHIR-based interfaces, contributing to testing, deployment, and operational support of enterprise interoperability platforms. The ideal candidate is technically curious, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow within healthcare integration and interoperability.

Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM (On call support required, as needed).

Department: Enterprise Technology Services- Data Services

Key Responsibilities

* Assist in the development, configuration, and maintenance of HL7 and FHIR interfaces between clinical, financial, and operational systems
* Support interface testing, validation, and deployment across development, test, and production environments
* Monitor interfaces for errors or performance issues and assist with troubleshooting and incident resolution
* Participate in interface documentation, including message specifications, workflows, and configuration details
* Collaborate with senior integration engineers, analysts, vendors, and clinical stakeholders to support interoperability initiatives
* Follow established standards, best practices, and change management processes to ensure system stability and data integrity
* Mentoring Jr. Developers. 

Qualifications:

* Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Computer Science or Computer Information Systems preferred. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Computer Science or Computer Information Systems preferred.
* Experience: 8 years required in healthcare integration experience including HL7 interface development and FHIR APIs with responsibilities including implementation, technical troubleshooting, customer support and problem solving.
* Licensure/Certification: 
* EPIC Bridges Certification, required.
* InterSystems IRIS Professional, preferred.
* HealthShare Health Connect Specialist, preferred.

* Additional Skills (required): 
* Deep expertise with in-depth understanding of integrations using HL7 or FHIR standards,including design, development, testing, deployment, and management.
* Proficient with programming and logic.
* Proficient with XML, JSON, HL7 file formats.
* Knowledge of CI/CD tools/processes to deploy containerized application.
* Seeing through deliverables from conception to finished product.
* Knowledge of Healthcare industry standards, HIPAA privacy and security rules.
* Experience with Agile software principles and developed software in a DevSecOps environment.
* Ability to troubleshoot failures and performing root cause analysis to identify deficiencies in data and/or processes.
* Team oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent prioritization skills.
* Team member mentorship and training.

* Additional Skills (preferred): 
* Process: Leads the design, architecture, implementation, and optimization of system integration technologies across the enterprise. Provides expert-level post-implementation support and plays a key role in critical incident resolution and escalation support. Establishes and governs documentation standards, including data flows and interface inventory. Drives adherence to and evolution of IT processes, including analysis, design, build, testing, and change control. Proactively manages priorities across complex, high-impact initiatives.
* Collaboration: Leads cross-functional collaboration to define integration strategy, design enterprise workflows, and identify scalable integration solutions. Acts as a recognized subject matter expert, influencing technical direction and business decisions. Partners with senior stakeholders to align integration capabilities with organizational goals.
* Analysis: Leads analysis of enterprise architecture, system compatibility, and integration design. Solves highly complex problems, develops innovative solutions, and drives continuous improvement of integration performance. Anticipates future integration needs and influences system design accordingly.
* Leadership: Leads large-scale or complex integration initiatives across IT, vendors, and business stakeholders. Demonstrates full ownership and accountability for high-impact deliverables. Serves as a mentor and technical leader, elevating team capability. Drives change initiatives and influences organizational direction through strong relationships and consultative leadership.
* Quality Assurance: Establishes and enforces integration best practices, governance standards, and quality frameworks. Oversees testing strategies, implementations, and system upgrades to ensure enterprise-level reliability, scalability, and performance.
