Overview:
The Integration Engineer I (Health Level 7) supports the design, development, and ongoing maintenance of healthcare system integrations that enable secure and reliable data exchange. This role assists with HL7 v2, HL7 v3, and FHIR-based interfaces, contributing to testing, deployment, and operational support of enterprise interoperability platforms. The ideal candidate is technically curious, detail‑oriented, and eager to grow within healthcare integration and interoperability.
Schedule: 8:00AM - 5:00PM (On call support required, as needed).

Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the development, configuration, and maintenance of HL7 and FHIR interfaces between clinical, financial, and operational systems
* Support interface testing, validation, and deployment across development, test, and production environments
* Monitor interfaces for errors or performance issues and assist with troubleshooting and incident resolution
* Participate in interface documentation, including message specifications, workflows, and configuration details
* Collaborate with senior integration engineers, analysts, vendors, and clinical stakeholders to support interoperability initiatives
* Follow established standards, best practices, and change management processes to ensure system stability and data integrity
Qualifications:
Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree, required. Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or related field, preferred. 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or related field, preferred.
Experience: 1 year required professional experience in IT or related business, preferably in a healthcare environment in an analytical or technical role with responsibilities including implementation, technical troubleshooting, customer support, and problem solving. Candidates with strong academic preparation, certifications, or relevant internships may be considered in lieu of direct professional experience.
Licensure/Certification: Epic Bridges, preferred.
Additional Skills/Requirements (required):
* Basic understanding of HL7 v2.x message structure (segments, fields, delimiters)
* Familiarity with:
* TCP/IP, file-based and web service integrations.
* Data formats such as HL7, XML, JSON.
* Basic SQL knowledge for querying and validating data
* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):
* Hands on experience with Intersystems HealthConnect Cloud (IHCC) or similar interface engine
* Exposure to message mapping and data transformations.
* Healthcare workflows (registration, orders, results)
* Experience supporting EHR Systems (Epic, Cerner, etc.)
* FHIR
* CICD Pipeline for code promotion
