Responsibilities:

At IPS, we are global leaders in developing innovative solutions for the consulting, architecture, engineering, project controls, procurement, construction management, and CQV of technically complex facilities, primarily in the life sciences industry. We are looking for a talented Manager (Instrumentation) to join our dedicated team at our office located in Vikhroli, Mumbai.

In this role, you will oversee and manage the Instrumentation group's operations, ensuring timely and successful project delivery. As a Lead Manager, you will be instrumental in driving project success, empowering your team, and ensuring that high-quality standards are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Ideally, you will have a strong technical background in instrumentation engineering, leadership skills, people management, and the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams. 

Additional Responsibilities

* Work closely with the Head of Department (HOD) to plan and assess the manpower requirements (Engineers & Technicians) based on the current and projected workload for ongoing and upcoming projects.
* Ensure adequate resources are allocated effectively to meet project demands.
* Regularly review the progress of ongoing projects in line with project schedules and deliverables.
* Address resource gaps or challenges, reallocating or augmenting teams as necessary to keep the project on track and meet the client's expectations.
* Inspire and motivate the department team to ensure successful project completion within deadlines, maintaining high-quality standards and client satisfaction.
* Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.
* Provide technical assistance and support to colleagues in the department, helping them troubleshoot and solve complex instrumentation issues as they arise.
* Create, update, and ensure adherence to engineering standards, including specifications for the procurement of instrumentation items, design calculations, bill of materials (BoMs), and other technical documentation.
* Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in instrumentation technology by attending industry seminars, conferences, and training sessions.
* Share this knowledge with your team to ensure the department remains at the cutting edge.
* Conduct regular site visits if required, to monitor project implementation, resolve on-site technical issues, and ensure alignment with client expectations.
* Proactively identify potential issues and work to resolve them promptly.
* Mentor and train junior engineers, technicians, and other team members to enhance their skills, knowledge, and career development.
* Lead by example and encourage a culture of continuous improvement.
* Review technical documents and project deliverables produced by project leads, providing constructive feedback and ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
* Occasionally step into the role of Project Lead, taking responsibility for overseeing the successful execution of specific projects, ensuring team coordination, and delivering the project on time and within budget.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Instrumentation Engineering/Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
* 15+ years of experience in the instrumentation field, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications

* 10 to 12 years of experience in an engineering consultancy company.
