Responsibilities:
GFT is seeking an Inspector to join our Construction Services team in Long Island, NY.

What you'll be challenged to do:
In this role, you will perform quality assurance inspections on major roadway projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and Gannett Fleming TranSystem's Quality Management Protocols (QMP).
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in coating application and inspection on bridge-related projects. You'll play a vital role in maintaining structural integrity and safety while representing Gannett Fleming and our client in a professional and proactive manner.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Construction inspection of jobsite activities
* Interface with the project team and project manager
* Attend project meetings
* Perform quality assurance and quality control functions to confirm the contractor's adherence to the contract documents
* Produce daily electronic inspection reports
* Issue verbal contract deficiency reports, including follow-up on required corrective actions
* Coordinate with contractor construction staff, utility companies, local municipalities, and other external agencies
* Maintain a daily inspection diary documenting construction activity, including environmental and site events and progress of construction for the purpose of assisting in preparing a daily inspection report.
* Review the quality of Contractors work and provide report to Office Engineer for review.
* Ensures contract compliance with project plans and technical specifications.
Qualifications:
What you will bring to our firm:
* High school diploma or equivalent, college experience, a plus
* Minimum 5+ years of experience in roadway, utility, or site construction inspection
* NICET Level II or III in Transportation or related discipline required
* Must have OSHA 10-hour or 30-hour certification or be able to obtain within 3 months of hire
* ACI Certification, a plus
* Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordination with contractors, outside agencies, and project team members
* Must be able to safely navigate active construction sites, including uneven terrain, ladders, and elevated work areas; may require occasional weekend or night work
* Valid driver's license required
* Prior experience with Microsoft programs such as Word and Excel
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $62,000.00 - $100,000.00, based on experience and geographic location.
