Qualifications:

* Education: Accredited program in alignment with licensure requirements
* Experience: 4 year's experience
* Licenses/Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Certified through American Safety and Health Institute, American Heart Association, or American Red Cross. AND one of the following: Current Registered or Licensed Dietitian in state of practice AND one of the following certifications: -Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist from CBDCE

Responsibilities:

The Clinical Dietitian 3, works closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide nutrition care that is integrated and compatible with patient/client-focused medical goals and objectives following the Nutrition Care Process (NCP).

* Conducts Nutrition care in accordance with the Nutrition care process while maintaining time guidelines according to hospital policy.

* Identifies patient Nutrition status and nutritional needs using established standards of care and practice guidelines.

* Determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and monitoring/evaluation.

* Provides patient and staff education on Nutrition care in an evidence-Based manner using approved education materials.

* Conducts Nutrition focused physical examinations, diagnoses malnutrition, independently orders nutrition related feedings, diets, and medications within scope of practice, as defined by Medical Staff Services. Makes referrals to others within and outside SLHS as necessary.

* Leads and mentors others acting as first point of escalation. Participates in interview, training and onboarding process as needed. 

* May assist Clinical Nutrition Manager with department operations and performance improvement initiatives.

* Performs the most advanced tasks with no supervision. Subject matter expert in Clinical nutrition.

* Actively participates in and leads department level care councils.

* Obtains and maintains credentials, privileges, and competency in at least one special privilege area (Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN), Certified Diabetes Education (CDE)) and all other applicable clinical areas, as administered by Medical Staff Services. Obtains and maintains special procedure privileges as needed for clinical area.

* Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
