Presbyterian Medical Group seeks an experienced nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join our established cardiology practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Practice Highlights: * Total of 10 night shifts per month * Each shift is 14 hours in duration * Rotating at Rust Medical Center and Presbyterian Hospital * Shift based schedule allows for easy work/life balance Responsibilities: Summary: Serves as an Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) with the cardiology inpatient night service. Provides direct patient care in hospital setting at night. Responsibilities: * Total of 10 inpatient night shifts per month, starting at 1800 and going until 0700 the following day. * Ability to be a part of Subspecialized cardiac care lines including General cardiology, Congestive Heart Failure service, Electrophysiology, Interventional cardiology. We provide 24 hour a day, 7 day a week cardiology coverage. * Consultants for all cardiac care within Presbyterian covering and managing an array of cardiac issues: Interventional: NSTEMI/STEMI, TAVR, MitraClip, PFO closure, ECMO, Impella Electrophysiology: Afib, SVT, VT, heart block, Pacemaker implantation, Lead revisions, Implantable loop recorders CHF service: Cardiomyopathy management with close transition to outpatient care. Collaboration with transplant centers for advanced cardiomyopathies. * Supports PHG inpatient service, as required. Remains in-house during assigned shift. * Works in concert with the cardiologist in completing admissions and consultations, rounding, and managing patient care during the assigned shift in the clinic and the hospital. This includes initial evaluations (H&P), documentation, writing orders and clinical disposition. * Available by phone for nursing unit calls, following up with cardiologist as appropriate. * Provides in house night call coverage rotating 7 days per week with other APCs on the team. Beginning time for shifts will be determined by the medical director based on operational needs. Rotation through day and night shift may be determined by the team, with final approval by medical director or designee to ensure safety and continuity of care. * Interfaces with non-PHG physicians * Communicates with the Office Point Guard or the cardiologist on call concerning PHG patients. * Provides complete and timely dictation on all clinical work. Submits patient billing paperwork, as directed. * Facilitates the direct admit of patients transferred from other regions if directed to do so by the cardiologist. * Provides a structured sign out report to cardiologist. * Completes all patient care tasks assigned and ensures appropriate hand-off before ending shift. * Exhibits excellent communication skills with patients, families, and all healthcare providers and staff. * Performs other functions as required. Other information: * Masters Degree * NP or PA in clinical practice. * Additional training or work experience in Cardiology preferred. * 3+ years of practice preferred.
