Overview: This position is responsible for installing and removing molds, setting up raw materials for molded parts, assurance of the quality of parts being molded, regrinding of sprues/runners, and scrapping of contaminated parts/materials in a safe, clean, and efficient manner. Responsibilities: * Responsible for set-up/start-up of Injection Molding Equipment * Performs daily molding machine maintenance and molding machine repair as required * Maintains the operating condition of industrial production, processing machinery, or equipment * Monitors tooling condition and notifies tool room when mold is unable to produce quality parts or preventative maintenance is required * Operates material movement equipment in a safe and efficient manner to prevent injury to self, others, and other equipment * Reprocesses sprues/runners into regrind to be blended back into the process per quality system requirements * Cleans auxiliary equipment that supports injection molding process * Scraps contaminated materials per accounting and quality system requirements * Participates in in-process inspections of injection molded components * Follows all processes, policies, and procedures to account for materials, finished goods, and quality system requirements * Responsible for shut down, lock out of equipment, and informs supervisor if safety device is found to be defective * Cleans work areas using basic cleaning materials * Assures all assigned equipment is clean and all safety guarding is in place * Performs additional duties as assigned Qualifications: * Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance * Ability to operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs * Ability to analyze failures, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators * Ability to determine causes of operating errors and implementing effective solutions * Ability to use judgement related to identifying and segregating non-conforming materials and components * Self-motivated and capable of identifying and completing tasks with minimal direction * Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods * Ability to use judgement related to identifying potential safety hazards * Ability to work night shift, 4 on/ 4 off, 6p to 6a * Requires standing, walking, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling * Requires eye/hand/foot coordination * Requires the ability to lift up to 40 pounds * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential job functions
