Responsibilities:

As our Scheduler, you will orchestrate a seamless and efficient care process for patients and providers by coordinating appointments and managing schedules.

Every day you will schedule patient appointments and coordinate multiple provider schedules for medical procedures, tests, and studies. You will be expected to ensure timely scheduling through effective communication, accurately gather and verify patient insurance and documentation, process reports, and provide exceptional customer service to patients via phone and in-clinic assistance.

To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate strong attention to detail, multitasking abilities, and excellent communication and reasoning skills to manage scheduling complexities and patient inquiries, always striving for accuracy and efficiency.

* Schedules Infusion Center patient procedure appointments efficiently and accurately.
* Coordinates obtaining medications from the Pharmacy.
* Obtains all of the necessary documentation required to support the treatment of Infusion Center patients, including documentation supporting medical necessity, physician orders, including diagnosis, lab results and patient demographics.
* Ensures insurance authorizations have been obtained before delivery of Infusion Center services.
* Processes accurate and appropriate patient charges for all Infusion Center services rendered.
* Performs all clerical duties for the Infusion Center, including answering phones, filing, and preparing patient forms.

Qualifications:

Required

* One (1) year of experience as a hospital or medical office secretary or administrative assistant or six (6) months of experience providing direct patient care in a healthcare setting
* Basic Life Support - AHA BLS
* Basic computer literacy and proficiency 
* Ability to operate copier, scanner, and fax machines

Preferred

* Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience 
* One (1) year of college or equivalent experience
