* Actively participate in the Infection Prevention Program by supporting prevention activities and best practice measures.
* Demonstrate analytical skills i.e. calculation of infection rates.
* Maintain membership in the Association of Professional in Infection control and Epidemiology at a state and national levels to provide opportunities for networking and education.
* Possess knowledge of data collection and analysis, navigation of systemcomputer systems, problem solving, decision making, effective communication and conflict management skills.
* Successfully work in an environment of high stress with rapidly changing priorities.
* Evaluate and utilize interpersonal dynamics and effective communication styles to work with people in a very positive way under very difficult circumstances.

Qualifications:
* Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, required. RN or Medical Technologist or comparable degree.
* Experience:
* Minimum of three years of infection prevention and control experience, preferred.
* Minimum of three years of healthcare experience, required.
* Minimum of three years of leadership experience, preferred.
* Licensure/Certification:
* Cert in Infection Control and Epidemiology, preferred.
* If no cert at hire, must be obtained within 2.5 yr, required.
* Current RN License if RN with no IP experience, required.
* American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification for Med Tech with no IP experience, required.
* Additional Skills (required):
* Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing; understands and uses personal computer. Demonstrates analytical skills, i.e., calculation of infection rates. Maintain membership in the Association of Professional in Infection control and Epidemiology at a state and national levels to provide opportunities for networking and education.
* Knowledge of data collection and analysis, navigation of system computer systems, problem solving, decision making, effective communication and conflict management skills. Ability to successfully work in an environment of high stress with rapidly changing priorities. Knowledge of human psychology with the ability to work with people in a very positive way under very difficult circumstances. Ability to evaluate and utilize interpersonal dynamics and effective communication styles to work with people in a very positive way under very difficult circumstances.
* Additional Skills (preferred): Knowledge of departmental and Novant Health computer system(s).
