				Overview:

Specialist-level professional. Designs, develops, and integrates complex IT enterprise software solutions with a focus on ServiceNow frameworks, programming, troubleshooting, and debugging IT software issues, aligned with strategic goals and technology needs. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to gather and refine project requirements as part of the development lifecycle from conception to delivery. Applies best practices to maximize the benefit of ServiceNow and other IT systems investments. This individual will also mentor and provide guidance to other team members as needed.

Responsibilities:

Planning

* Define and drive ServiceNow technology strategy at the project and enterprise levels.

* Lead the development and implementation of ServiceNow coding and configuration standards.

* Collaborate with IT leadership on long-term ServiceNow and broader technology initiatives.

* Evaluate and integrate new ServiceNow capabilities and related technologies into existing systems.

* Lead cross-functional teams in strategic planning and execution for ServiceNow solutions.

System Design & Integration

* Manage and lead large-scale ServiceNow development and implementation projects.

* Define and implement enterprise-wide ServiceNow development standards and best practices.

* Evaluate and integrate new ServiceNow modules, features, and integrations into existing architectures.

* Provide technical expertise in solving complex ServiceNow and platform-related challenges.

System Operations

* Design and implement proactive monitoring solutions for ServiceNow performance and reliability.

* Lead efforts to automate routine ServiceNow administration and support tasks.

* Act as a liaison between ServiceNow support, development, and business teams.

* Develop and deliver advanced ServiceNow technical training for team members.

* Drive continuous improvement initiatives in ServiceNow support and operational processes.

Mentor

* Mentor colleagues and junior ServiceNow developers in technical strategy and platform best practices.

* Enable and guide cross-functional learning and collaboration related to ServiceNow capabilities.

Qualifications:

Knowledge and Skills in ServiceNow

* Mastery of ServiceNow development tools, modules, and platform technologies.

* Ability to design and implement complex ServiceNow solutions across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, or custom applications.

* Ability to create scalable and maintainable ServiceNow frameworks and architectures.

* Proficiency with ServiceNow development best practices, including source-controlled, modular, and application-scoped development.

* Proficiency in advanced ServiceNow integration techniques and working with third-party applications (REST, SOAP, IntegrationHub, MID Server, etc.).

* Strong understanding of ServiceNow governance, compliance, and platform security frameworks.

* Familiarity with version control systems (Git/GitHub/GitLab) for ServiceNow development.

* Experience with event-driven processes using ServiceNow Events, Flows, Subflows, or Messaging integrations.

* Experience designing and implementing comprehensive ServiceNow test strategies (ATF, automated testing frameworks).

* Proficiency in advanced integration testing and validation for ServiceNow and external systems.

* Ability to identify and design ServiceNow solutions that improve the organization's technological architecture and business processes.

* Ability to communicate project benefits, costs, and risks to senior and executive management.

* Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, etc.) and adopting DevOps strategies for ServiceNow.

* Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and automation principles.

* Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and ServiceNow coding best practices.

* Ability and willingness to expand skills into other IT applications and supporting technologies.

* Ability to adapt communication effectively for business stakeholders and technical teams.

* Proven experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of enterprise software applications and ServiceNow solutions.

* Proven experience with systems planning, security best practices, and enterprise software management.

* Strong understanding of organizational goals and strategic objectives.

* Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices, regulations, and laws.

* Strong project management capabilities.

* Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

* Ability to conduct research and evaluate systems, issues, and emerging technologies as needed.

* Ability to communicate ideas clearly in both technical and user-friendly language.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, or a related technical field; or 12+ years of experience in IT enterprise software development in lieu of a degree. 8+ years of experience in IT enterprise software development or equivalent relevant experience.
