Overview:
OPEN TO ICC CNA STUDENTS ENROLLED FOR THE SUMMER 2026 SEMESTER ONLY
The Education Stipend will be issued as a one-time payment of $1,700 and will be considered taxable income.
This is an education stipend opportunity. To be eligible for the education stipend, recipients must be of legal age to sign a contract, which is at least 18 years old. Upon completion of the ICC CNA program, education stipend recipients will enter a Patient Care Technician, or other role requiring a CNA certification at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify for this education stipend, recipients must be enrolled in the Summer 2026 semester of the ICC CNA program. Recipients will have a 2 year work commitment to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center working as a Patient Care Technician. The required qualifications for our Patient Care Technicians are as follows:
* CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
* CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
* Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
