We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager that will provide comprehensive HR leadership and support across various functions, including hiring, employee relations, performance management, training, administrative functions and compliance. This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate will foster an environment where our team thrives, our culture stays strong, and our people feel valued.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with hiring managers and the Corporate Recruiter to develop effective and precise job postings that accurately reflect the role and attract qualified candidates.
* Collaborate with the corporate recruiter, hiring manager and IT to ensure a seamless, engaging onboarding experience that immerses new hires in the Windstar culture
* Provide guidance on employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions, maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Escalate complex matters to the Senior HR Manager as needed.
* Develop and execute engagement strategies that align with the company's mission and values, ensuring all employees feel valued and motivated.
* Craft effective HR communications to ensure that all employees are informed, engaged and aligned with company goals.
* Ensure HRIS data integrity through collaborations with department leaders and Xanterra HR partners. Initiate position code requests, submit promotions, transfers and approve changes to employee profiles.
* Maintain HR databases such as the job description folder and Public Drive resource files.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries about benefits, including health insurance, 401k plans, travel discounts, paid time off, and more.
* Support the Senior HR Manager with the tracking and processing of FMLA, state leave programs, personal leaves, and ADA requests.
* Ensure timely and consistent responses to unemployment claims in line with established procedures.
* Review, approve and process remote work requests as warranted, ensuring appropriate communication with key stakeholders.
* Manage and promote the corporate referral bonus program to support strong candidate pools. Collaborate with the payroll team on bonus payments.
* Manage HR administrative functions such as HRIS reports, work anniversaries, event planning, organizational chart
* Represent the company at local community events, promoting Windstar as the employer of choice.
* Provide support to the payroll process and serve as backup for payroll processing.
* Ensure compliance with state and federal employment laws as well as company policies and procedures.
* Lead by example to identify opportunities and work to improve processes, apply innovation, and serve as an advocate for company initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations
* Serve as a Subject Matter Expert for employee questions regarding HR policies and procedures.
* Lead or assist with special projects as assigned by HR leadership
Qualifications:
* At least 5 years' experience in Human Resources, preferably in the cruise or hospitality industry.
* SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
* In-depth knowledge of HR principles, practices and employment laws.
* Experience supporting HR functions in a multi-state employment model is an advantage.
* Strong, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey information in a clear and courteous manner appropriate for the audience.
* Excellent task management and organizational skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trust and credibility at all levels within the organization.
* Creative problem-solving skills; ability to implement solutions and escalate issues appropriately
* Ability to foster a culture of inclusivity, collaboration and teamwork.
* Proficiency with HRIS, payroll and benefits software
* Demonstrated competence in using the full Microsoft 365 suite.
