Overview: The Housekeeping Aide provides essential facility maintenance services on Ascension Island, a remote South Atlantic location supporting critical military and scientific operations. This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in living quarters, administrative buildings, and common areas, ensuring a comfortable environment for personnel stationed on the island. The role requires adaptability to island conditions and commitment to maintaining high standards in a unique and challenging environment. Responsibilities: * Clean and sanitize living quarters, offices, and common areas according to established schedules and standards. * Make beds, change linens, and replenish bathroom supplies in residential accommodations. * Vacuum, sweep, mop, and polish floors in all assigned areas * Dust and clean furniture, fixtures, windows, and other surfaces * Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas! * Report maintenance issues and safety hazards to appropriate personnel * Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and submit requisitions when replenishment is needed. * Operate standard cleaning equipment including vacuums, floor buffers, and carpet cleaners. * Follow proper protocols for handling and disposing of cleaning chemicals and waste. * Comply with all safety regulations and environmental protocols specific to the island. * Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned. * Maintain security awareness in all facilities. Qualifications: * Education: * High school diploma or equivalent * Certifications: * Base Clearance * Experience: * 1+ years of experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or similar role * Other Requirements: * Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe handling of cleaning chemicals * Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. * Skills and Technology Used: * Willingness to live and work on a remote island for extended periods. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. * Valid passport and ability to obtain necessary work permits. * Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality * Flexible schedule availability including weekends and holidays as needed.
