Responsible for maintaining clinical exposure through intervention, coordination of patient care, role modeling and consulting /problem solving. Utilizing the nursing process, ensures compliance with quality standards established by regulatory agencies, Hospital standards of care, performance enhancement programs, and risk management. Builds and sustains collegial relationships, generates commitment, resolves conflicts, and collaborates with others, both individually and teams, to achieve desired outcomes. Performance management techniques are consistently applied leading to positive results and a well developed staff. Provides a caring environment in support of St. Luke's Hospital's mission, vision and values. Facilitates unit/ hospital performance enhancement projects through positive communication and rounding. Apply critical thinking to all scenarios requiring progressive communication with the Administrator on call. Make collaborative decisions with the nursing supervisors and the AOC which will impact the hospital's overall operations status. Actively Participates in monitoring and controlling expenses outlined in the operational budget for patient care areas. Responsible for consistently displaying compassion, helpfulness, and consideration to patients, significant others, and guests. They manage incident reports and patient concerns. Coaches and counsels staff and complete counseling documentation as indicated in collaboration with the unit manager. Will demonstrate self-leadership through self-assessment, requests for feedback, and action plans that include continuous learning both formally and experientially.
Responsibilities:
* Manages overtime and unit staffing for all nursing staff based on budget, patient acuity and census after 3 pm and on weekends. Communicates staffing decisions to Nurse Managers of concerned area.
* Analyzes and Manages Bed Huddle process.
* Responds and intervenes in all emergency situations which include House wide Codes, STEMI and Hypothermia Emergency room Patients.
* Coordinates all staff nurse sick calls and communicates information to the manager of concern and the SSP manager.
* Responsible for the notification of Endoscopy and Operating room on call staff after 2300 M-F and Sat and Sun
* Acts promptly and decisively to address problems that arise throughout the house.
* Serves as administrative/management representative at all times
Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience:
*Bachelor's Degree
*Five (5) years of relevant experience
* Registered Nurse (RN) required
Required Licensure & Certification:
*RN: TX
*BLS-CPR (14 day grace period) through AHA
