Overview:
Greet and escort guests to restaurant tables in accordance with established guest service standards.
Responsibilities:
* Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, escort to dining table and present menu.
* Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
* Maintain proper set-up of dining room.
* Assist as needed or requested with service.
* Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
* Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
* Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
* Perform other duties as requested by management.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
* Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
* Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
* Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a positive, attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
* Flexible and long hours are sometimes required.
* Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
* Ability to stand during the entire shift.
