Saint Joseph East is a 217-bed, full-service community hospital in the rapidly growing southeastern section of Lexington, Kentucky. The hospital provides care for patients in Fayette and surrounding counties, offering ambulatory surgery, 24-hour emergency care, and comprehensive women's health services, along with a wide range of inpatient and outpatient programs. The facility also includes the Women's Hospital at Saint Joseph East, which features a 16-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Welcome to Saint Joseph Mount Sterling, a not-for-profit, faith-based hospital founded in 1918.  Formerly known as Mary Chiles Hospital, Saint Joseph Mount Sterling serves as a 42-bed community hospital and is recognized as a 2024 Best Place to Work in Kentucky.

Responsibilities:

The President of Saint Joseph East & Saint Joseph Mount Sterling is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the facility, ensuring alignment with CommonSpirit's strategic plan and the mission, vision, and values of CommonSpirit. This role involves integrating local healthcare resources, including CommonSpirit facilities, vendors, and partners, to enhance the effectiveness of care delivery and population health management. The President also serves as the public face of Saint Joseph East and Mount Sterling, representing the organization within the community and embodying its mission to key stakeholders.

Essential Key Responsibilities include:

* Advocates for partnerships and programs that grow the business to deliver value in new ways.
* Serves as a key integrator in how the continuum of care effectively provides high quality care for patients leveraging the best value point and level of care.
* Attracts and retains high quality clinical- and non- clinical key staff who will contribute to the sustained success of the facility.
* Optimizes quality, safety, and the patient experience in partnership with clinicians and in support of system-wide targets and metrics. 
* Initiates continuous improvement in partnership with administrative and clinical staff.
* Participates in key boards and coalitions and builds relationships with major employers in the community.
* Communicates and collaborates with board members and organization officials to ensure efficient facility functioning. Develops board in accordance with their role and commitments, including evolution to new structures and accountabilities.
* Coordinates the development and implementation of an annual facility budget that supports the overall strategic plans and aligns to expectations of CommonSpirit.
* Monitors all financial operations to ensure the facility (facilities) utilizes its resources in a fiscally responsible manner.
* Conducts an annual review of the extent to which the facility (facilities) is fulfilling the CommonSpirit mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience:

* Required Master's or Post Graduate Degree
* A minimum of 5 years experience as a Senior Leadership Executive in a healthcare facility.
* Certification or fellowship in the American College of Health Care Administrators preferred.
* Physician practice management is an asset.
