We are seeking a highly motivated clinical pharmacist to join our dynamic pharmacy team in a large academic teaching hospital. Specialized practice areas are available based on your interest and experience including:

* Cardiology
* Critical Care
* Emergency Medicine
* Oncology (Inpatient)
* Transplant

This role offers the opportunity to practice in a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment providing services including but not limited to: assessing patient needs, incorporating age and disease specific characteristics into drug therapy and patient education, adjusting care according to patient response, and providing clinical interventions to detect, mitigate, and prevent medication adverse events. Clinical pharmacists work directly with physicians, other health professionals and patients to provide all aspects of patient care, including clinical and distributive tasks as well as other assignments or projects as directed by the Pharmacy Leadership Team.

* Ensures the appropriate preparation and dispersal of medications in accordance with facility, state, and national laws and regulations 
* Assures compliance with HIPAA, DNV, OSHA and other state and federal regulations guiding healthcare 
* Adheres to policies and procedures of UPH-DM 
* Prioritizes the importance of preventing errors, accidents, and infections within the workplace and reports potential or actual concerns immediately

Qualifications:

Education: 

* Bachelor of Pharmacy with equivalent clinical hospital experience required
* Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) preferred
* Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY-1 pharmacy residency or equivalent experience required
* PGY-2 or equivalent experience preferred for specialty areas

Experience: 

* Proficiency in navigating the electronic medical record
* One or more years of hospital pharmacy experience required

License(s)/Certification(s): 

* Iowa Pharmacist license in good standing or eligible for licensure
* Must attain a license to practice Pharmacy in Iowa within six months of employment
* Must be directly supervised by a licensed pharmacist until Iowa Pharmacist license is obtained
* Must maintain current license to practice pharmacy in Iowa and be in good standing with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners
* Valid driver's license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons
