Overview: Office Location: Decatur, ALCoverage area: Morgan and Lawrence counties Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 8am -5pm Hospice of North Alabama is seeking a compassionate, grounded, and spiritually-sensitive Chaplain in Decatur, AL. Our Chaplains provide emotional and spiritual support to patients and families during end-of-life care. How YOU will benefit * Develop deep meaningful relationships during a personal and significant life stage * More quality time with patients, allowing for more thoughtful unrushed care * Variety in work environment, visiting patients in a variety of settings * Ability to work independently while also having team support * Freedom to be spiritually inclusive, working with patients of all backgrounds * Job stability and regular advancement opportunities with a growing company * Build strong skills in grief counseling and long-term emotional support Benefits and Perks for You! * Medical, Dental, Vision insurance * Health Savings & Flexible Spending Accounts (up to $5,000 for childcare) * Tuition discounts & reimbursement * 401(k) with company match * Generous PTO * Mileage reimbursement * Access to wellness and discount programs such as Noom, SkinIO (Virtual Skin Cancer Screening), childcare, gym memberships, pet insurance, travel and entertainment discounts and more! *Benefits may vary by employment status Responsibilities: As a Chaplain You will: * Conduct and ensure timely spiritual assessments for patients and families * Participate in developing individualized care plans to address spiritual needs * Provides direct spiritual support to patients, families, and caregivers * Serves as a liaison to community chaplains and spiritual counselors * Maintains accurate documentation of spiritual services and communications * Attends interdisciplinary meetings and contributes to care planning * Offers education and spiritual care guidance to the care team * Recruits and supports community chaplains, spiritual counselors, and volunteers * Coordinates and leads memorial or funeral services as requested * Organizes periodic memorials for staff, volunteers, and community partners * Assists in supervising spiritual care volunteers Qualifications: * Graduate of an accredited theology or chaplaincy program (BD, MDiv or equivalent theological degree) * Experience working with death and dying, hospice experience preferred * Comfort in an interfaith setting * Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order * Ability to accept different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values * Knowledge of and commitment to hospice philosophy of care * Ability to work as member of interdisciplinary group * Ability to network with community clergy and congregations
