Responsibilities:

As our Histotechnologist, you will help Pathologists perform both routine and complex histologic techniques on tissue samples so they can diagnose disease.

Every day you will perform routine and complex histologic techniques. You will be expected to be proficient in all areas of routine histologic prep (including paraffin embedding, microtomy, routine and special staining), surgical pathology/gross room activities (including accessioning, specimen handling and processing, and frozen section technique), and complex techniques such as enzyme histochemistry, immunohistochemistry, in-situ hybridization, and immunofluorescence.

To be successful in this role, you must be knowledgeable in the areas of pathology, management, education, and regulations that impact the field of histotechnology, and be able to act as a technical resource for the department.

Qualifications:

Required

* Bachelors Degree and successful completion of an accredited Histotechnology program, or
* Bachelors Degree and one year full time acceptable experience in a histopathology laboratory within the last 5 years including fixation, embedding, microtomy, processing and staining, and successful completion of an accredited Histotechnology program
