What you'll be challenged to do:
The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 5 years of progressive design experience in roadway engineering design for highway, interchange, and/or urban roadway design services to public clients. Under supervision, performing plan development and calculation of varying degrees of difficulty for a wide variety of assignments that may include, technical studies, roadway designs, drainage, storm water management, erosion and sedimentation control, signing, pavement marking, roadside design and quantity estimating. Independently evaluates and applies standard techniques and preparing reports and letters.
In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
* Develops calculations, specifications, quantities of materials and cost estimates as part of the project team.
* Produces drawings and specifications within specific tasks that meet the scope, schedule, cost and quality requirements and satisfies all federal, state, and local requirements.
* Reviews shop drawings to determine conformance with the contract documents.
* May provide direction to and supervision for less experienced engineers.
* Communicates with clients on behalf of the project team under supervision of project manager.
* Attends public and agency meetings and participates under direct supervision of project manager.
* Able to work in multi-disciplinary teams and lead tasks.
* Responsible to work on multiple concurrent assignments and time management.
* Representing GFT at industry and professional events.
Qualifications:
What you will bring to our firm:
* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering required; Master's Degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
* Professional Engineer License and ability to obtain multiple jurisdictions
* 4+ years of applicable experience designing roadway infrastructure
* Expertise with CADD
* Expertise with geometry and drainage software
What we prefer you bring:
* Working knowledge of Design Manuals and Design Guidelines
* Expertise with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Some experience with management of project tasks
* Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $120,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
