Overview: Under general supervision, operates one of a variety of heavy and special motor equipment of five (5) tons or over. Makes minor adjustments to equipment and, when not driving, does related work as required. Responsibilities: * Operates a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc. * Makes minor adjustments to equipment. Qualifications: * Applicants must have at least one (1) year of experience as a Heavy Motor Equipment Operator. * Must have and maintain a valid Massachusetts commercial driver's license. * Ability to exercise good judgment and focus on detail as required by the job. * Ability to operate a derrick truck, tractor, bulldozer, sander, plow, etc. * Ability to make minor adjustments to equipment. * Must be able to work any assigned shift in any assigned area. * Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to implement them while operating machinery. * Pre-employment physical and drug tests are required. Qualifications acquired on the job: * Gain knowledge in operating heavy machinery such as tractors, skid steers, and backhoes specifically for park maintenance tasks. * Ability to adjust to different park environments and varying project requirements.
