Health Information Lead (Release of Information)

Full Time / On-Site

M-F 8:00am-5:00pm (with some flexibility)

$21/hr pay rate

Responsibilities:

* Train Health Information Technicians to review patient electronic medical records to ensure accuracy and completion.
* Partners with medical staff to facilitate timely and accurate record completion, consistent with regulatory requirements.
* Supports medical record release (ROI), including patient/family requests for patient portal access and CareLink access by external users.
* Actively participates in outlier and/or other quality-focused meetings.
* Performs clinical abstracting (LTRAX) from medical records and assists in training others.
* Assists in the workflow design and monitoring of health information functions.
* Generates and prepares clinical and administrative reports as needed.
* Communicates effectively with leadership, including hospital CEO's and others, on HIM-related issues.
* Supports HIM leadership team with other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

* Bachelors Degree
* At least 3 years of experience in the last 5 years working in full-time health information management, with record release and/or record completion experience.
* Excellent organizational skills
* Superb verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work and communicate effectively with all members of hospital and clinical staff
* Proficiency in Epic and spreadsheet design and use
* Extremely detail oriented
* Ability to be professionally assertive

Preferred Qualifications

* RHIT or RHIA
* Experience and/or familiarity with CareerLink useful
