				Overview:

The Health Education Coordinator is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and evaluation of continuing education and organizational learning initiatives. This role supports evidence-based practice across the organization by identifying educational needs, coordinating professional development activities, and fostering a culture of lifelong learning and clinical excellence. 

Responsibilities:

*  Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop evidence-based curricula and training materials

*  Evaluate curriculum and instructional material and work with providership organizations to continually meet requirements for CEU/CEH distribution

*  Assess, plan, and coordinate continuing education programs for clinical and non-clinical staff

*  Manage logistics for in-person and virtual educational events, including workshops, seminars, and webinars

*  Conduct organizational learning needs assessments in collaboration with department leaders

*  Support onboarding and orientation programs for new staff

*  Contributes to the annual budget process of the Health Education Center and operates within the budget 

*  Exhibits flexibility and openness to changes as a result of the continual evaluation of the Health Education Center

*  Serve as a liaison for hospital staff and learning management system for online learning modules.

*  Participates in professional organizations and maintains professional growth 

*  Organizes task forces/committees and provides leadership in accordance with both parent organizations' guidelines. Serves on task forces/committees as appointed. 

*  Collaborates and networks with other health systems and community organizations to facilitate the delivery of continuing education

* Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling to accommodate departmental education needs

*  Coordinates ongoing review of nursing and HEC policies and procedures

*  Work with document managers to identify updates references

*  Supports implementation of evidence based practiced into policy implementation

Qualifications:

Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required

Masters Degree in Nursing preferred

Experience:

Three years experience with progressive responsibilities and demonstrated leadership abilities as a member of the healthcare team required.
Experience in planning and executing education programs preferred.

License(s)/Certification(s):

Current RN Licensure in State of Iowa or applicable compact state. Must be licensed in state of residence.

Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. (i.e., demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills)

Multicultural sensitivity.
Microsoft Office - basic computer skills.
