**This position will be physically located in Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP**

Under the supervision of the Hazardous Waste Supervisor, the Hazardous Waste Specialist collects, stores, and manages Hazardous Waste to include classes 2 - 9, as well as fuel, Lead, Lithium and other misc. Hazardous Materials. The Hazardous Waste Specialist will post instructions, warnings, or other markings as necessary in all workspaces, to include, wherever appropriate. Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace. Will support the Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance teams by providing information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure compliance with local, national, and Army regulations and completes supporting documentation IAW the PWS. Supports the development of SOPs to maintain a hazard free work environment.

Responsibilities:

* This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.
* Collects, stores, and manages Hazardous Waste to include classes 2 - 9, as well as fuel, Lead, Lithium and other misc. Hazardous Materials.
* Post instructions, warnings, or other markings as necessary in all work spaces, to include MSDS, wherever appropriate. Responsible for maintaining a safe workplace and ensuring that safety is the highest priority in the workplace.
* Will support the Environmental Health & Safety and Quality Assurance teams by providing information and materials to these divisions as necessary to ensure compliance with local, national, and Army regulations and completes supporting documentation IAW the PWS.
* Supports the development of SOPs to maintain a hazard free work environment.
* Other Duties as Assigned

Qualifications:

* Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
* A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Driver's License, is required.
* A valid driver's license and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's License and host nation Heavy Duty Driver's License.
* zero (0) to (1) years of relevant experience depending on education.

* Licenses/Certifications:
* Must be capable of obtaining the following certs within 180 days of hire: HAZWOPER: 40-Hr, 24-Hr, and 8-Hr Refresher; HAZCOM (GHS); Upper Respiratory Protection; ; Respiratory Fit Testing; Blood Pathogen Training;

* LN Qualifications/Experience Requirements:
* High school degree or equivalent
* Minimum 0-1 years technical experience
* Must be able to read/write and speak English.
* Must be capable of obtaining the following certs within 180 days of hire: HAZWOPER: 40-Hr, 24-Hr, and 8-Hr Refresher; HAZCOM (GHS); Upper Respiratory Protection; ; Respiratory Fit Testing; Blood Pathogen Training;
* Excellent situational awareness and attention to detail.

* Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
* The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.
* The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.

* Physical Requirements
* Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
* Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
* Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
