***This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***

Under the supervisions and direction of the Port Engineer, the Marine HVAC and Electric Shop Supervisor is responsible for performing predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical power generation systems and sub-systems. Assisting in vessel overhauls, craft and vessel support in set-up, connection and tear down of temporary power. Leads the team of electricians HVAC technicians ensuring all priorities of work are met. Takes time to train and mentor junior electricians and HVAC tradesmen.

Responsibilities:

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

* Performs repairs, maintenance and adjustments to electrical systems from 24 volts DC to 480 volts AC;
* Disassembles repairs and reassembles electrical components on engines ancillary/auxiliary electrical equipment and switchgear components;
* Conducts inspections to ensure proper operating conditions of electrical systems and components, on diesel engines and other auxiliary equipment;
* Inspect and test equipment and circuits to identify malfunctions or defects, using wiring diagrams and testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or ammeters;
* Construct, test, maintain, and repair protective relays and control systems; Open and close switches to isolate defective relays, performing adjustments or repairs;
* Prepare and maintain records detailing tests, repairs, and maintenance;
* Analyze test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems, or to evaluate effects of system modifications;
* Test insulators and bushings of equipment by inducing voltage across insulation, testing current and calculating insulation loss;
* Repair, replace, and clean equipment and components such as circuit breakers, brushes, and commutators;
* Disconnect voltage regulators, bolts, and screws, and connect replacement regulators to high-voltage lines;
* Oversees the HVAC Lead and manages administrative requirements for HVAC maintenance management
* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

* Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education if the degree is required.
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Technical School Licensed Journeyman Electrician or equivalent Marine Electrician certification.

* Preferred: Master Electrician License
* Experience:
* Five (5) years' working as a Licensed Journeyman electrician with experience working in Shipyards, Refineries, Plants, or other Industrial workplace;
* Three (3) years' in a supervisory capacity

* Preferred:
* Seven (7) year's working as a licensed Journeyman electrician with experience working with 3 phase power, motors, and motor controls in the maritime industry.
* Five (5) years 'in a supervisory capacity
* Diesel power generation or power plant experience
* Experience with Caterpillar C280 or 3600 series engines.

* Skills:
* Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and storage requirements to meet compatibility of products based on hazard class is required.
* Strong interpersonal skills are required.
* Ability to exercise discretion and good judgement is required.
* Ability to prioritized responsibilities to handle a demanding workload is required.
* Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy is required.
* Advance ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in written form is required.
* High-level organizational and planning skills, so that workflow is managed and accurate is required.

* Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
* The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
* The Worker is frequently in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, small enclosed rooms, small sewage pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
* The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.

* Physical Requirements:
* Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
* Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
* Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
