HVAC Mechanic

Responsibilities:

EchoStar has an exciting opportunity for an HVAC Mechanic in our Hughes Network Systems division. This position will be located at our headquarters in Germantown, MD.

Key Responsibilities: 

* Assists workers engaged in installation, repair, and service of environmental control systems.
* Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis parts.
* Cuts, bends, fits, threads, and joins piping and tubing.
* Installs air and water filters.
* Adjust controls as necessary.
* Connects, adjusts, and troubleshoots temperature control systems.
* Lubricates fans, motors, and control units.
* Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
* 7 years of experience troubleshooting, servicing, repairing and/or replacing medium to large commercial HVAC (not residential) systems with minimal supervision.
* 5 years' experience at the Journeyman level.
* Prior experience with a 24/7 critical facility.
* Current Journeyman HVAC Licenses in any state
* EPA Certification/CFC Licenses
* Experience reading/following blueprints or engineering specifications.

Essential Job Duties:

* Ability to lift 50 lbs.
* Ability to stand for 3 hrs. at a time. The ability to walk and/or climb stairs and ladders.
* Ability to perform fine manipulation with fingers and hands.
* Ability to sit for long periods or stand for long periods.

Skills and Qualifications:

* Knowledge of Refrigeration, Heating and Air Conditioning systems Including chillers, cooling towers, Computer Room Air Conditioner Units (DX and Chilled water) RTU's, (DX and chilled water) and Air Handling Units
* Certified in stick welding (SMAW)
* Ability to braze and solder all sizes of refrigerant piping
* Good written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
* Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
* Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
* Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
* Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
* Flexibility to work overtime/weekends as necessary.

Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
