Responsibilities: The HVAC Mechanic will provide the repair and maintenance of all heating refrigeration and air conditioning systems. The incumbent will provide the daily HVAC maintenance operations and activities for all assigned facilities. The HVAC Mechanic will receive and evaluate work orders and requests, investigate requests or problems where appropriate, and complete the necessary repairs. Work Model: Onsite Qualifications: Essential Duties & Job Functions: * Inspects, troubleshoots, maintains, cleans, repairs, replaces, installs and modifies/upgrades HVAC system chillers, air handers, cooling towers, heating units, air conditioners, coils, condensers, boilers/water heaters, furnaces, piping, valves, control systems, etc. (this includes government provided portable chiller units). Additional requirements in AFI 32-1001, Civil Engineer Operations, will be followed. * Oversees HVAC functions of the BUILDER SMS data to ensure accuracy and integrity. * All HVAC preventive maintenance shall be accomplished in accordance with manufacture's recommendations and/or PMTLs (whichever is more stringent), to ensure safe, functional, efficient, and reliable systems. * Maintains appropriate and consistent climate control throughout the base. * Ensures building temperatures and humidity are within specified ranges. * Transports, connects, and operates government provided portable chiller units as necessary. * Maintains a water treatment and corrosion control program to control scale, algae, slime, and corrosion on HVAC systems. The contractor shall document water analysis, quantity of chemical used, and corrective actions. * Cleans duct work as required to ensure system performance. * Performs duct work. * Other duties as assigned.
