Overview:
Waters Corporation is seeking an HSE Manager, EMEA Field Operations to support the sales and service efforts of the European Field organisation. The Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing and monitoring site safety and environmental programmes as well as educating and engaging employees at all levels. The position will be based out of the new European Distribution Depot (EDC) facility located at Oud-Gastel, Netherlands.
Responsibilities:
* Working collaboratively with the Field organisation, advocate and progress consistent and pragmatic HSE solutions to support the success and direction of the business.
* Monitor and identify changes to key regulations and standards affecting site compliance. Communicate and lead implementation of changes.
* Lead and/or support HSE risk assessments, audits, inspections and associated corrective actions.
* Provide relevant training, education and subject matter expertise to the sites.
* Develop and champion awareness for safety and the environment to improve the HSE culture.
* Lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, and ensure suitable corrective actions are taken to improve HSE credentials.
* Collaborate with functional colleagues to identify, agree and support HSE objectives that align with the global goals.
* Support the Sales teams in preparing tenders and completing customer HSE questionnaires
* Support sustainability efforts including the collation and submission of data for corporate reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
Education:
* Bachelor of Science degree, equivalent primary degree or substantial experience in a similar role.
* Post-graduate degree (Diploma/MSc) in HSE field.
* If not already attained, working towards professional health and safety/environmental certification such as CMIOSH or EurOSHM.
Experience:
* Extensive background in an HSE position within a scientific or laboratory environment.
* Proficient understanding of European regulations related to workplace safety and the environment.
Proficiencies:
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills showing clear attention to detail.
* Proficiency in working autonomously and cooperating with team members to uncover practical solutions for complex issues.
* Demonstrated ability to recognise, evaluate and recommend controls for workplace hazards.
* Proven capability in leading improvement teams and implementing solutions.
* Ability to execute work assignments and perform duties with or without direct supervision.
* Excellent skills in communication, collaboration and organisation.
* English (oral and written) to a high standard, crucial; additional languages helpful.
Travel:
* Routine travel will be expected across the EMEA region.
