Overview:
This role provide HR support an employee population for Nihon Waters and TA Instruments Japan. It will have a responsibility for a range of HR activities and support all employees in the organization up to functional leaders by strong partnership and collaboration with HR colleagues in various disciplines, Directors, Managers, employees across the APAC regions. Reporting to a Head of HR, Japan.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with country specific laws & regulations, effective, efficient & consistent administration of compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruiting and L&D activities for managers and employees.
* Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives.
* Deliver HR generalist services in areas such as recruitment, selection, employee relations, compensation, benefits, administration, support payroll & time & attendance, customer service, training, talent management.
* Consults legal counsel in the application of policy in complex situations to ensure the company is in compliance with local laws.
* Coach and guide managers to develop leadership capability, maximise employee potential and promote career development, performance management.
* Support organisational design and change initiatives.
* Remain up to date with Human Resource developments and take necessary steps accordingly.
* Organizational Effectiveness - collaborates and support projects both locally and globally to ensure continuous improvement, consistency and transparency in HR policy and activities.
* Deliver HR Operations function including support for Head of HR, Japan when supporting managers/colleagues, consistent & efficient delivery of HR services and CoE programs for managers/colleagues
* Daily point of contact for employees and people managers supporting a variety of HR related policies, procedures, programs.
* Maintain the effectiveness of the Quality system at the sites via adherence to applicable policies and procedures
* Adhere to Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures and work closely with local EHS
Qualifications:
* Education - Degree level
* 5+ years' solid experience in a generalist role including the ability to work at both strategic and operational levels
* Conversant and up to date with employment laws and HR best practice with experience in the development and implementation of employment policies and procedures
* Experience of working with global HR colleagues/team
* Demonstrate understanding of HR principles, theories and concepts.
* Understand core business objectives and how HR goals link to business priorities.
* Interpret policies and procedures and applies judgement of application for the business.
* Provide analysis and solutions for routine issues.
* Solve problems in consideration of policies and procedures or do so with support.
* Review and recommend the refinement of procedures.
