Responsibilities:

EchoStar is seeking a highly organized and empathetic HR Immigration Specialist to support our growing workforce. In this operational role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day execution of our immigration programs. You will serve as the primary point of contact for foreign national employees, partnering closely with external legal counsel, internal HR teams, and hiring managers. The ideal candidate has a meticulous eye for detail, a strong understanding of US employment visas, and a passion for providing a seamless, supportive employee experience during complex immigration processes.

Key Responsibilities

* Serve as the primary internal contact for candidates and employees regarding their immigration status, answering day-to-day inquiries, and guiding them through documentation requirements and travel restrictions
* Proactively update hiring managers, recruiters, and HR business partners on case statuses, processing timelines, and potential risks to candidate start dates or continued employment
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date immigration data, tracking visa expiration dates and triggering proactive renewal processes
* Assist the broader HR operations team with complex Form I-9 and E-Verify verifications for foreign national employees, ensuring proper documentation of work authorization
* Identify operational bottlenecks in the day-to-day immigration workflow and suggest practical solutions to improve efficiency and the employee experience
* Perform other administrative duties and special projects as assigned by the HR Compliance Manager

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: 

* 2-4+ years of professional experience in HR Operations, Global Mobility, or as an Immigration Paralegal

Skills and Qualifications:

* Foundational understanding of US visa types (H-1B, L-1, TN, F-1 OPT/STEM, O-1) and the employment-based Green Card process (PERM, I-140, I-485)
* Uncompromising accuracy in data entry, document review, and compliance record-keeping
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal jargon into clear, reassuring language for employees
* Proven ability to manage high volumes of cases, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday and Oracle) and standard office software (e.g., Google Workspace, Microsoft Office)
