Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our Human Resources team. This role supports a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a passion for supporting employees and fostering a positive workplace culture. Known as "The City Different", Santa Fe sits at 7,000 feet above sea level and sees more than 320 days of sunshine a year, making it a prime destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The City of Santa Fe is home to Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center (SFMC), a not-for-profit hospital with 30 licensed beds, owned and operated by Presbyterian Healthcare Services and guided by a community-based Board of Trustees. The hospital offers a range of services for Northern New Mexico, including but not limited to emergency medicine, primary care and specialty services. With hiking and biking trails, a healing pathway, a community teaching kitchen, a rooftop healing terrace and community meeting spaces, the medical center is designed to be a beautiful and inviting place where community members can gather to pursue their health and wellness goals. Responsibilities: * Directs, advises, and manages HR functions to include recruitment, orientation, counseling, corrective action, training, , performance management in alignment with policy. * Ensures compliance with established policies, JCAHO, State licensure and other regulatory standards. * Participates in oversight of operating budget, revenue and expenditures, according to current policy/approved budget; analyzes and reports fiscal activity, makes recommendation and/or takes appropriate action to reduce the cost. * Participates in development of departmental policies, procedures, goals and objectives; Maintains HR files, according to established standards, ensuring file integrity. * Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, current literature and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends. * Administers, directs, educates managers and employees in interpretation and application of HR policies, benefits, compensation, EAP, workers comp, payroll, recognition program; Advises and coordinates in matters involving personnel actions. * Administers recruitment functions to include screening, testing, wage analyses according to compensation guidelines, extending job offers, and processing candidates through the system. Assists managers with recruitment and interprets policies and procedures related to recruitment process. * Investigates problems, evaluates findings, advises participants, takes and/or recommends actions regarding employee relations/work issues. * Works in conjunction with Employee Health and manager regarding workers comp, personal illness/injury issues, short-term disability, and various leave policies. * Support and fosters communication and work to align the Vision, Values, Purposes and Strategies of PHS. * Assists with special projects as needed. * Administers payroll functions and counsels employees and managers on payroll guidelines. Qualifications: * Bachelors degree required or 6 years of experience in lieu of degree. * Three years of experience in human resources required. * SHRM, SHRM CP, SHRM SCP preferred. * Must be on site in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
