Hybrid: O'Fallon, MO

Annual Compensation: $60,000 DOE

Overview  

The Human Resources Generalist provides support for the Operations such as recruiting and selection for open positions, administration of affirmative action and salary guidelines, training, and performance management by working in partnership with other functional leaders and the National HR team. Ensure that human resource activities support the Service Vision and Values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

* Assists the Operations leaders with meeting their hiring goals in accordance to Affirmative Action Policies and area staffing plans. Achieves a minimum of 95% staffing levels. 
* Develops partnerships with Operations leadership to facilitate efficient staffing/recruiting plan. 
* Researches, analyzes, prepares and presents hiring statistics. Measures staffing resources efficiency and report to customers and HR management team. 
* Review background checks for new employees and ensure all onboarding processes and checks have been completed.
* Complete employment verifications.
* Conducts New Hire Orientation and presents training for new employees.
* Administer the I-9 process.
* Ensure I-9 documentation is received and verified within government-required timeline.
* Function as the day-to-day support for frontline employees.
* Assists employees with benefits, records, employment or training-related questions.
* Meets with front line employees to provide annual Mandatory Meeting review for subjects including but not limited to, Harassment Prevention; Workplace Violence; Anti-Hazing policies and review process.
* Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave; disciplinary matters; disputes; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
* Responsible for HR administration including, but not limited to HRIS data entry and recordkeeping.
* Develops and conducts leadership training for new supervisors and/or managers including benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, performance and talent management, productivity, company processes and practices, etc.
* Assist managers and employees in the use of all HRIS systems.
* Monitor and complete Workday/HRIS actions throughout the day for HR department.
* Accurately complete Workday data entry such as: one-time bonuses, compensation changes, data changes, etc.
* Maintain and keep updated employee documentation files in Workday (new hire & on-going existing employee documentation)
* Produce regular and ad hoc reports from Workday to assist the HR department and Company managers to aid with analyzing data.
* Prepares and submits monthly staffing reports.
* Handles leaves of absence (LOA) administration including minimizing potential negative impact of employee mandated leaves. Maintenance of database, tracking of leave and customer follow up. Conducts employee relation investigations when needed, including interviewing, documenting investigations and assisting leadership in corrective actions as needed. Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
* Keeps local management apprised of issues that jeopardize the achievement of objectives, and those that are not being addressed adequately at the line management level.
* In conjunction with the Leadership Team, develops and executes proactive strategies that enhance employee morale, lower turnover, meet financial needs of the Company, and provide a consistent strategy.
* Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
* Acts as a liaison for employees with benefits, records, employment, or payroll-related questions, etc.
* Handles leaves of absence (LOA) administration including minimizing potential negative impact of employee mandated leaves.
* Assist with the Company implementation of annual performance reviews.
* Adheres to and upholds all company policies and procedures.
* Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone's responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to: Know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
* Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

* PHR or SHRM-CP a plus. 
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
* Workday knowledge is preferred, not required.
* Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
* Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Requirements

* Computer proficiency and technical aptitude in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* High School diploma or equivalent.
* Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in Human Resources, Business, Sociology, or Public Policy preferred. 
* Strong people and communication skills.
* Presentation skills or public speaking
* Hybrid in office/remote work environment
* Occasional travel

Experience:

* A minimum of two (2) years' experience in human resources administration, affirmative action plan administration, and employment law application.
* Union experience strongly preferred but not required.
