Practical Information:  

Location: Budapest, Hungary | Reports to: CEE Regional People & Culture Manager | Work Arrangement: Hybrid | Visa Requirements: Valid working Visa for Hungary | Language Requirements: Fluent/Professional level of Hungarian and English, written and verbal  

As our new HR Generalist, you will be responsible for managing both operational HR processes and strategic initiatives. The role is a combination of hands-on HR administration with business partnering responsibilities, ensuring smooth HR operations while fostering employee engagement across the organization. 

The role is for a fixed term of up to one year, with the possibility of extension. 

The role:  

* Coordinate payroll and ensure full compliance with Hungarian labour law, internal policies, and reporting requirements 

* Manage end‑to‑end HR administration, including onboarding/offboarding, employee documentation, HRIS (Workday) updates, and time reporting 

* Maintain accurate employee data, prepare HR reports, and support audits and cooperation with finance and other relevant departments 

* Partner with managers on performance management, talent development, career growth, and succession planning 

* Drive employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, data analysis, action planning, and promoting company culture and values 

* Support organizational changes, workforce planning, and continuous improvement of HR processes, collaborating with Talent Acquisition and other stakeholders 

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in HR, Business, or related field 
* Solid background in HR administration and payroll; experience in HR business partnering is advantageous 
* Good working knowledge of Hungarian labor law 
* Familiarity with HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and advanced Excel skills 
* Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills 
* Ability to handle sensitive data with integrity and discretion 
* Strong communication and coaching skills; ability to influence and build relationships at all levels 
* A proactive, collaborative, and results-oriented mindset with a passion for process improvement
