Responsibilities:

* Receives soiled linen by bag, cart or chute from floors.  Sorts all articles; inspects all laundry and linens and records all damaged or stained items. 
* Assists in the removal of soiled linen from vacant guest rooms, as well as from housekeeper carts on the guest floors and brings them to the laundry facility. 
* Operates washers and dryers properly according to the recommended capacity and other guidelines established for the existing equipment.  Ensures necessary chemicals are added in the correct quantities at the proper times during the cycles. 
* Informs Housekeeping Manager or Lead on duty of any malfunctioning equipment. 
* Folds and stores clean linens. 
* Assists in completing regular linen and terry inventories. 
* Assists in re-stocking maid carts and maid closets with fresh linen. 
* Cleans work area and dryer vents as required. 
* Reports all Lost & Found items to Housekeeping Manager or Lead on duty. 
* Responds quickly and courteously to guest requests. 
* Thoroughly familiar with all related HAZCOM information, MSDS for any chemicals in use, and Blood Borne Pathogen prevention and response.  Follows all Safety handling procedures and is fully responsible for the knowledge and compliance of all Emergency Procedures. 
* Will be cross-trained to assist with Guest Room Cleaning or Public Area Cleaning. 
* Actively participates in all hotel meetings, training, programs and events as requested.. 
* Follows all company and department policies, procedures and standards.. 
* Presents a professional image at all times through appearance and behavior.

Qualifications:

* A minimum 6 months of related experience in Hotel Housekeeping preferred.
* Ability to read, write and comprehend the English language; basic instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to effectively communicate with hotel guests and other team members.
* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers.
* Qualify for licensing with the West Virginia Racing Commission.
* Ability to define problems, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. 
* Must be able to express hospitality, either in verbal or through expression to guests and fellow team members.
* A Laundry Attendant spends a major portion of their workday involved with the following: walking, pushing, and pulling, lifting, bending, stretching and crouching. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to use and reach with hands and arms.  The team member frequently is required to talk or hear.  In addition to operating washers, dryers, vacuum cleaners and carts the team member is frequently required to lift objects weighing as much as 20 pounds.

* The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
