Overview:
The Group Leader will be responsible for the overall leadership, planning and implementation of an after-school group for K-12 youth, including integrated educational projects, recreation, arts and crafts and group building activities.
Reports to: PROGRAM DIRECTOR, AFTER SCHOOL AT SBAAM
Location: 778 Forest Ave, Bronx, New York 10456
Hours: 18 hours, non-exempt
SALARY: $17/hr - $18/hr
Major Duties:
* Plan and conduct integrated learning, recreational, arts and developmental activities for youth.
* Supervise all program participants at all times.
* Complete and monitor required documentation.
* Participate in training and staff development activities.
* Create and implement lesson plans for all activities.
* Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
* High School diploma required; minimum of two years of college in related field preferred.
* Able to lead and participate in group sports and recreation.
* Experience in developing group lesson plans or integrated learning packages.
* Must have a commitment to working with youth from a strength based and/or youth development perspective.
* Ability to work with students from various social, cultural and educational levels.
* Ability to work independently in an environment that requires close tracking of participants' progress.
