Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Responsibilities:
- Mow grass, plow snow, water lawns, feed and trim sHRubs, tends flower beds and regularly inspects assigned work areas to insure proper standards are maintained. - Operate lawn and grounds equipment including power mowers, snow blowers, bucket loaders and other power equipment. - Repair and maintains facility sidewalks and parking lots. - Assist Lead Groundskeeper with planning, planting and maintaining exterior and interior landscaping in accordance with the landscaping plan. - Remove refuse and trash from grounds. - Adjusts, clean and perform minor mechanical work on grounds equipment. - Recommend for purchase and suggests suitable locations for trees and sHRubs. - May apply pesticides to plants as directed. - Perform duties and operate equipment in a safe manner.
Qualifications:
- Previous grounds keeping experience preferred - Must perform duties with a sense of urgency - Must be able to work as a team with other employees - Ability to use and control various mechanical equipment - Ability to transport all supplies to and from work areas - Must be able to operate equipment - Must be able to walk, stand, and work on hand and knees for long periods of time - Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations including ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces
