Responsibilities: Our newest opportunity is for a talented Graduate Quantity Surveyor (Kuwaiti National), to join us on an iconic project in Kuwait. The ideal candidate will be taking their Engineering background and developing it into the field of Quantity Surveying. We envisage success in this role to include; * Assisting in the preparation of project cost estimates at various stages, leveraging technical understanding of structural and material requirements from engineering drawings and specifications. * Supporting the tendering process by reviewing documentation, analyzing contractor bids, and preparing comparison reports, focusing on the technical feasibility and scope completeness of submissions. * Conducting on-site measurements and valuations of work completed by contractors, applying knowledge of construction methodologies and tolerances to ensure alignment with approved plans and contract terms. * Contributing to the drafting and review of contract documentation, collaborating with project managers, specifically on the technical scope and bill of quantities (BOQ) structure. * Participating in site meetings to discuss project progress and address commercial issues, providing the technical perspective on cost-related claims and delays. * Managing and maintaining detailed records of all contractual and financial documentation, ensuring traceability and compliance, particularly relating to design changes and material approvals. * Learning and applying industry-standard quantity surveying software and tools for cost analysis, measurement, and reporting, converting engineering data into commercial value. * Assessing and negotiating variations (changes) to the project scope, using technical analysis to accurately calculate the material, labor, and time impact. * Monitoring and tracking project expenditures against the approved budget, identifying potential risks, and suggesting cost-saving opportunities based on construction alternatives and optimization. * Collaborating with the engineering and construction teams to understand technical project requirements and their impact on costs and procurement, acting as the commercial bridge to the design team. * Preparing regular financial reports and cash flow forecasts for senior management, integrating project progress schedules (learned in civil engineering) with financial projections. * Undertaking training and mentorship to develop a comprehensive understanding of local Kuwaiti construction law and commercial practice, building upon foundational knowledge of construction regulations. * Supporting the final account process by compiling all relevant financial information and facilitating settlement negotiations, verifying the technical completion and quality of delivered works. * Ensuring compliance with all internal commercial policies and external regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle, starting with an ethical commitment to professional standards. * Actively engaging in professional development activities to transition into a certified quantity surveying professional, capitalizing on an existing technical degree for fast-track certification. Qualifications: To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include experience from graduate level to a maximum of 5 years post graduate experience, partnered with a Bachelors Degree in an Engineering field such as civil, mechanical or electrical studies.
