Overview: POSITION SUMMARY: The Graded Exercise Technician attaches patients to electrocardiography machines and/or heart monitors to record electrocardiograms. Technician operates graded exercise stress monitoring equipment in order to provide data to physicians for use in diagnosing and treating heart disorders/disease. In doing so, arranges equipment, gathers pertinent patient information, explains test procedure to patients, attaches leads and operates equipment. Qualifications: REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * High School diploma or GED Equivalent. * Prior experience as an EKG Technician, Monitor Technician or EMT. * American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * EKG certification. * Two years on the job experience in EKG interpretation. OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
