Responsibilities:

The Equipment Manager / Mechanic  oversees the maintenance and repair of various gasoline and diesel-powered machinery used for golf course upkeep. The Mechanic contributes by ensuring the cleanliness of the service area and maintenance facility, supporting a preventative maintenance program, and adhering to safety protocols. This role involves managing and performing complex repairs and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure their proper functioning, while also leading a team of mechanics and maintaining accurate documentation.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Communicates maintenance or repair requirements for equipment to the Superintend and/or Assistant Superintendent.

2. Conducts regular inspections, diagnoses, adjusts, and repairs mechanical issues in various golf course maintenance equipment.

3. Works with the Equipment Manager to prioritize equipment repairs and maintenance tasks.

4. Sets up and modifies new equipment as needed.

5. Repairs and fine-tunes engines and cutting systems on a range of heavy and light mowing machinery.

6. Ensures maintenance equipment is properly fueled, lubricated, and inspected, and performs related tasks as necessary.

7. Sharpens mowers using grinders.

8. Follows the preventative maintenance schedule, which includes oil changes, greasing, and checks for air and fuel.

9. Inspects equipment on the golf course.

10. Performs additional duties as assigned.
