Overview:
This is a full-time, hybrid career opportunity based out of our Corporate Headquarters location in Lancaster, PA.
Typical work hours are Monday to Friday 8 AM to 4:30 PM with hybrid schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days' work from home following successful training period.
Performs a variety of duties in support of the department including both domestic and international standby and commercial letter of credit processing. Primary functions revolve around letter of credit issuance, advising, document review, maintenance, billing and information reporting. As directed, will coordinate transactions with commercial lenders, legal, loan operations and directly with customers to meet required deadlines. Assist management in maintaining efficient and accurate operations while delivering high standards of customer service.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for system daily start and stop functions. Ensure end of day batch file is delivered successfully. Initiate letters of credit by properly verifying all information in related loan documents in accordance with all applicable legal and lending compliance requirements. Escalate deficiencies to management as needed. Interact with internal and external customers to clarify information and confirm sample letter of credit language. Input data for letter of credit activity into the system of record. Assist in preparing monthly reports on letter of credit outstanding items, delinquent accounts receivable and other reports as directed. Assist with the daily reconcilement of required general ledger accounts. Assist with the letter of credit billing process and its related management reporting systems. Help to track accounts receivable and update delinquency reports. Assist with the record keeping for Fulton Bank and affiliate letter of credit inventory and maintaining the access database and all necessary reports. Follow procedures to ensure processing compliance with all bank secrecy act required programs. Build familiarity with industry standards and requirements for letters of credit.
* Review and maintain documentation in accordance with commercial and standby letter of credit terms, conditions and requirements. Carefully examine all presented shipping documents against letter of credit requirements. Document and escalate any discrepancies to management. Coordinate resolution with customer as directed to help ensure compliance within the department. Initiate department specific messages to foreign banks as required. Build understanding of department specific messages and global correspondent bank network.
Qualifications:
Education
Associate Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: Relevant degree pertaining to the essential duties of this role. (Preferred)
High School Diploma or equivalent. Specialty: Does not apply at this level of education. (Required)
Experience
2 or more years Business and/or banking experience. (Required)
0 to 6 months Familiarity with articles and documents that relate to standby letters of credit. (Preferred)
