Overview:
Xanterra Travel Collection is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead operations at Mount Rushmore National Memorial. This strategic, guest-focused leader will oversee all aspects of operations, including providing direction, support, and guidance to the management team and front-line staff. The General Manager will optimize the entire guest experience, drive financial performance and ensure high-quality products and services, and maintain compliance with company and brand standards.
Located in the beautiful Black Hills region of South Dakota, Mount Rushmore National Memorial is open year-round and operates retail shops and a variety dining outlets serving convenient grab-and-go meals and coffee. Responsibilities:
* Strategic Objectives: Develop operational strategic objectives, tactical implementation plans, and communication process to ensure program success. The GM will forge a continuous improvement work environment that focuses on the company's "5 Pillar" strategic plan.
* Service Culture: Own guest service standards across all guest facing and support functions across the location. Inspire and drive a positive service culture and guest experience and provide a work environment in which employees can thrive.
* Inspirational Leadership: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with all business partners and employees.  Set the example through your own behavior and attitude.
* Business Operations: Lead and provide oversight of a complex, high-volume services operation, including food & beverage, Retail, Parking, Administration, and Employee Housing and Dining.
* Financial Achievement: Achieve and exceed financial goals to ownership.  Responsible for business plan, annual budget, capital plan execution, financial reports and forecasting, labor management, expense control and diligent accounting practices.
* Human Resources Strategy: Partner with Human Resources to ensure effective hiring practices, implement employee culture improvements, enhance employee recreation activities for all employees, training initiatives, scheduling practices, and housing maintenance programs.
* Sustainability: Support sustainable initiatives in all areas including building maintenance, engineering practices, safety initiatives, food selection & water conservation and interpretative training.
* Continuous Process Improvement: Drive a continuous improvement culture. Develop operational strategic objectives, oversee the development of tactical implementation plans and execution process to ensure success at every point along the way of the guest journey. 
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree with focus in hospitality or hotel management, business administration, finance or similar field of study preferred.
* 15+ years of progressive previous hospitality leadership experience, with 10 or more years in a senior leadership role. Previous experience with seasonal workforces a plus.
* Proficient with MS Office desktop software.
* Strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience with managing complex capital projects.
* Strong relationship & communication skills. Able to convey ideas effectively to a variety of audiences and establish effective relationships.
* Proven success establishing strategic goals, the ability to hold others accountable, and drive results.
* Ability to provide direction and/or solve complex problems and multiple issues simultaneously.
* Can make good decisions based upon the analysis and feedback of others.
* Strong relationship & communication skills. Able to convey ideas effectively to a variety of audiences, establish effective relationships, and inspire others.
* Strong financial acumen and demonstrated experience with overseeing multiple complex projects.
* Experience in managing a seasonal, diverse workforce.
