Responsible for providing academic instruction to students so they may obtain a GED by examination or a high school diploma in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives.

About Gulfport Job Corps Center
The Gulfport Job Corps Center serves students working toward their High School Diploma or receiving career training in Medical Administrative Assistant, Certified Nurse Assistant, and Electrical trades. Our flexible curriculum allows students to learn at their own pace and progress through vocational and academic tracks year-round, meeting each student's unique needs and learning styles.

Compensation & Benefits
Chugach Alaska Corporation offers an outstanding total compensation package, including:

* Salary of $45,000/year.

Additional Information
This position is funded through June 30, 2026, with continuation beyond that date contingent on future funding approval.

Qualifications:

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

* Provide students with basic direction, instruction and assistance in designated areas of instructions for GED.
* Motivate and counsel students in areas of behavior, career training, or study habits.
* Coordinate with staff as necessary to resolve issues affecting student training.
* Develop and prepare lessons.
* Participate on student performance evaluations. Prepare required documentation and evaluations.
* Administer and correct tests. Maintain progress and attendance reports.
* Control use of supplies, materials, and equipment. Recommend purchases.
* Assist in developing community linkages and partnerships.
* Access and train students to use computers and applicable software.
* Teach, model, and evaluate student employability skills.
* Develop and conduct enrichment program as assigned.
* Coordinate High School Diploma Program in collaboration with local school district. Maintain a collaborative relationship with school district.
* Transport students for training purposes as needed,
* Maintain and monitor computer equipment (terminals, peripherals and printers) to ensure proper operation and availability for use.
* Maintain accountability of students and property; adhere to safety practices.
* Cultivate and maintain a climate on Center which is free of harassment, intimidation, and disrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.
* Promote student attainment of career success standards through modeling appropriate skills, mentoring students, monitoring skill acquisition and intervening when inappropriate behavior is observed.
* Complete all necessary documentation and reporting actions required for the respective school district to ensure student success in acquiring the high school diploma.
* Monitor student progress in the program by ensuring compliance with established corporate and DOL Data Integrity guidelines. 
* Perform other related duties as assigned.

Accountable For:

* Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.
* Timely and cost effective performance of duties.
* Ability to effectively communicate and present information to students, management and line staff, corporate and DOL personnel and public groups.
* Ability to develop rapport and positive working relationships with all departments
* Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.
* Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
* Adherence to established company safety policies and ability to work in a safe manner, using any required personal protective equipment (PPE) as may be required.
* Compliance with company standard operating procedures and personnel policies and procedures.
