Overview:
This position is physically located in Balad, Iraq
The Fuel Supervisor is responsible for managing day-to-day fueling operations. Reporting to the Fuel Manager, this role ensures the safe and timely delivery of JP-8 Fuel for aircraft operations and Mogas and Diesel-2 Fuels for vehicles and generators. The Fuels Supervisor oversees expat, foreign and local national operators and coordinates all fueling activities including storage management, refueling truck operations, and equipment maintenance. This role requires deep knowledge of fuel safety, team leadership, and the operational tempo of a high-demand military/contract support environment.
Responsibilities:

* Supervise daily fueling operations, including aircraft, generator, and vehicle refueling.
* Monitor and manage fuel farm equipment including tanks, pumps, meters, and filters.
* Conduct fuel sampling and quality assurance testing to maintain standards.
* Enforce safety and compliance procedures (OSHA, NFPA) across all fueling activities.
* Lead a multicultural team, ensuring proper tasking, training, compliance, and performance oversight.
* Maintain shift logs, fuel issue/receipt documentation, and daily accountability records.
* Coordinate with airfield operations and logistics to meet mission-driven fueling requirements.
* Identify and report maintenance issues and coordinate repairs on fueling equipment.
Qualifications:
* Minimum Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of fuel handling experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
* High School diploma required; technical training preferred.
* Familiarity with JP-8, Diesel, and Mogas fueling procedures.
* Strong understanding of fuel quality testing, safety standards, and fuel farm systems.
* Proven experience leading expat, foreign, and local national teams.
* Preferred Experience:
* Military and or contracting fueling experience (e.g., USAF Fuels Specialist, 92F, etc.).
* HAZMAT or OSHA safety certifications.
* Experience in contingency operations.
* Working Conditions:
* Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
* Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, dusty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).
* Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
* Physical Requirements:
* Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
* Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.
* Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
* Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
