About Us: Our first school opened in 1996, and has since grown to over 100 schools in nearly 60 cities across China. We currently employ over 300 foreign teachers from the United States, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, South African and the United Kingdom. We take a four skills approach to learning English - focusing on speaking and listening as well as reading and writing. We use a blended style of learning, and integrate technology into the classroom to provide students with an engaging and exciting learning tool. We specialize in communicative English training for students from three years old to adults. The majority of our student population however, are students from 3-16. The language proficiency level of the students ranges from absolute beginner to advanced, and students are placed in a class with peers of similar age and language ability. Class sizes are small, usually from 10-18 students. Younger students are taught in English by a foreign teacher, and in English and Chinese by a bilingual teacher's aide. We believe in ongoing training, support, and development of our team, and provide excellent opportunities for professional development and advancement within our network of schools across China. Our team is growing, and we're looking for teachers who are enthusiastic about teaching, culturally inquisitive, and prepared for an adventure of a lifetime. Regional overview: North Region: Changchun, Dalian, Hohhot, Shenyang, Tangshan etc. East Region: Changshu, Jinan, Wenzhou, Yantai, etc. West Region: Chengdu, Chongqing, Kurla, Lanzhou, etc. Central Region: Changsha, Hefei, Wuhan, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, etc. South Region: Guiyang, Xia'men About the job: *Reports to Foreign Academic Manager *Between 16-25 contact hours/week, plus three (3) office hours (teaching hours are fixed at either 16, 19 or 25 per week, dependent on contract type) *Overtime paid for hours above contracted amount *Small classes, between 10-18 students per class *Teach classes between 30 and 120 minutes *School provided curriculum *Teaching on evenings and weekends *2-4 days off during the week (depending on contract type) *One year contract About the Candidate: *You should be enthusiastic, dedicated and responsible. *You should like being around children and be genuinely concerned with their academic and social development. *You should be able to work independently. *You should be able to plan engaging lessons using school provided courseware and your own imagination to delight your students. *You should be able to work in a fast paced environment and be able to solve problems creatively and with a positive attitude. *You should enjoy working with technology in the classroom. Qualifications: *Bachelor's degree from an accredited, four-year university *TEFL/CELTA certificate is preferred *Must be a native English speaker from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, the US or UK. *23-50 years old (to meet work visa requirement) *Previous relevant working experience is preferred. *Experience working with children ages 3-16 is a plus! *Clean criminal record *Excellent physical and mental health *Must be able to commit to a one-year contract in China Pay & Benefits Package: *Salary CNY 5,300 - 9,000/month (commensurate with qualifications, teaching load and location) *School provided apartment (single or shared, two-bedroom apartment - fully furnished, near school) *Full medical insurance covering all major risks *14 days paid annual leave *12 days leave for Chinese public National holidays *Four hours of Chinese lessons every week *Arrival support and induction training *Sponsored TEFL qualification for teachers who do not have one *Induction training and ongoing job training *Fully sponsored working (Z) visa and Residence Permit *Flight allowance (half paid after six months, the second half paid upon completion of one year) How to apply: If you are interested in applying for this position, we kindly request you prepare the following materials: Your resume/CV A recent photograph Scan copy of your passport information page Scan copies of your degree and TEFL/TESOL certificates Your current location and preferred start date Your Skype ID Due to the volume of applications received, please understand it may not be possible for the company to contact each candidate individually.
