What You Can Expect:

Food Services Purchasing Assistant, under supervision, is responsible for ordering food, supplies, and/or equipment for food services. Follows through with vendors on shipment and delivery.

* Receives and unload freight. Verify items received with purchase order, ensure proper temperatures of delivered foods and correct products/brand received.
* Conducts inventory to ensure an adequate level of supplies is maintained. Rotate, date and discard all food products per standards.
* Inspects products received for quality and quantity to ensure adherence to specifications.
* Distributes food, chemical and paper products to kitchens, and food service areas outside of kitchen as needed.
* Order supplies, ensuring that all paperwork is completed accurately.
* Resolves basic issues using knowledge of procedures and policies. Refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
* Performs clerical duties as assigned.
* Expenses and transfer supplies to departments.
* Maintains records and follow up files of purchases, shipments, and related matters.
* Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
