Overview:
The Food Service Worker / Bartender provides food and beverage service support to personnel at AAAF. This role includes preparing and serving alcoholic beverages, supporting food operations, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, and delivering excellent customer service in accordance with host nation and military guidelines. The position requires strict adherence to food safety and alcohol service regulations and may operate in extreme weather conditions in an isolated environment.
Responsibilities:
* Key Responsibilities:
* Serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with local laws and military policies; verify legal drinking age with proper identification.
* Prepare and serve alcoholic drinks using established MWR recipes and bar procedures.
* Monitor and manage alcohol consumption to ensure safety and prevent over-service or disturbances.
* Address and manage intoxicated patrons in accordance with standard guidelines.
* Provide food and beverage recommendations and descriptions to patrons.
* Operate point-of-sale systems and manage cash transactions with accuracy.
* Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of bar and food service areas, tools, and equipment in accordance with Army Preventive Medicine and applicable food safety standards.
* Wash, clean, and store glassware, bar tools, and utensils.
* Stock supplies and ensure all materials and beverages are accounted for and stored correctly.
* Provide professional, courteous customer service and resolve patron concerns promptly.
* Maintain compliance with appearance and safety standards and wear appropriate uniform/PPE as required.
* Support MWR facility operations during both peak and low-demand periods.
* Must be able to perform yield adjustments to standardized recipes.
* Perform other related duties as assigned to meet mission and operational requirements.
Qualifications:
* Education Requirements:
* Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Preferred: Completion of basic food service or hospitality coursework or related certifications.
* Experience Requirements:
* Minimum of 1 year of experience in food and beverage service, bartending, or hospitality.
* Familiarity with alcohol safety procedures and food handling standards preferred.
* Skills and Competencies:
* Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Ability to remain calm and professional in high-paced or stressful situations.
* Proficiency with point-of-sale and cash handling systems.
* Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 20 pounds.
* Fluency in spoken and written English.
* Understanding of military customs and rank structure preferred.
* Additional Duties Statement:
* The Food Service Worker / Bartender may be assigned other related tasks and responsibilities as directed by the MWR Supervisor or chain of command to support the operational needs of the installation.
