What You'll Do
The Food Service Shift Leader is responsible for the daily operations of an assigned shift, supervising, training, and coordinating activities of personnel providing dining facility support efforts to produce and serve high quality food, excellent customer service in accordance with the Performance Work Statement.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible for personnel supervision, training and quality of dining facility services provided to the customer.
* Shall be courteous to customers and able to identify and verbally communicate all items served.
* Ensure patrons are assisted at tray clearing stations, provided with clean tables and chairs, and tableware and dining table items remain stocked during meal periods.
* Ensure foods are prepared on sanitized surfaces that have been cleaned, rinsed, and sanitized to prevent cross contamination.
* Set-up and break-down serving lines, salad bar and ice cream bar. Replenish all foods, tableware, beverages, and condiments as necessary to ensure they are available to all patrons throughout the meal period.
* Cover, label, and properly store all food, unless disposal of a leftover is appropriate.
* Responsible for accomplishing food temperature checks as required in service area.
* Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations regarding food preparation, handling and serving, food shipment and delivery and building maintenance in kitchen.
* Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, sanitary, healthy, presentable, professional atmosphere, free of dust, clutter and trash in all working facilities and areas.
* Responsible for proper utilization and safeguarding of all government and contractor provided property (e.g., to include government facilities, equipment and tools).
* Responsible for precise execution of company time reporting procedures and accurate completion of timesheet.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Minimum Qualifications
* Education: Equivalent experience from which comparable knowledge and job skills can be obtained may be substituted for education, if degree is required.
* Must have a High School diploma or equivalent, associate degree preferred
* Certifications:
* Must have and maintain a current Serve-Safe certification
* Experience:
* 1-2 years of supervisory experience in a food service or retail environment preferred.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a diverse, dynamic team
* This position requires basic math skills.
* Good problem-solving skills and decision-making skills
* This position requires capability to be flexible and adapt to any situation.
* Other Requirements:
* Must have a current, valid Passport, Driver's License and have ability to obtain any visa required
* Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
* Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.
* Candidate should be other country national (OCN) or local national (LN)
* Skills and Technology Used:
* Must be knowledgeable in Tri-Service Food Code, DAFMAN 34-131, AFMAN 48-147, and FDA Food Code, Food Service Program Management Armed Forces Recipe System, inventory control, HACCP, and the U.S Department of Health and Human Services Food Code standards.
* Familiar with manual and automated supply accounting systems, policies and procedures.
* Must be able to work under pressure.
* Service oriented.
